at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards at Spring Studios in
the Tribeca district of New York on Thursday.
The
white, knee-length frock featured a bib edged with black and cut outs
at the sides that revealed the star's rib cage and back.

Halle's make-up was expertly applied with silver and grey tones around her brown eyes and lashings of mascara.
She had a hint of blusher on her cheeks and completed the look with pearly pink lipstick.

X-Men star debuted a new do with her long dark hair cut into a blunt bob
that sat just above her shoulders and was dried into tousled waves.
The
Golden Heart Awards honor the important contributions of individuals,
corporations and foundations to the God's Love We Deliver organisation.
Funds
raised at the event help bring relief to people in the New York City
metropolitan area suffering from hunger or the affects of a
life-altering illness.

Halle
is co-chair of the event, which took place on World Food Day, along
with Donald Trump's ex-sister-in-law Blaine Trump, fashion designer
Michael Kors and Kors' CEO John Idol.
The
beautiful brunette was joined on the grey carpet by one of the
evening's three honorees, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who
received her golden heart for Outstanding Community Service.
The actress presented the award for Lifetime Achievement to Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS Corp.
Pressing the flesh: Bette Midler hugged Halle, grabbing a handful of skin in the process
Michael Kors handed attorney Richard E. Feldman the Golden Heart Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.
She also welcomed singer-actress Bette Midler and Gossip Girl alum Blake Lively to the gala.
Blake was making her first public appearance since announcing she is expecting a baby with husband Ryan Reynolds on October 6.
